Paros, Greece

We decided on the island of Paros as we only had 8 days in Greece and this little island is smack dab in-between Mykonos and Santorini. Not to mention, you feel like a complete local the second you step foot off the ferry. The majority of people here were Europeans on holiday (not many Americans at all.) There weren’t too many hotels to pick from, so we booked Saint Andrea Seaside Resort, which was beautiful and only 170 Euro a night (such a steal)! On our first night, we ate at Siparos, which is a cute local place right on Siparos Beach. The food, the sunset, and the ambiance were perfection.

As we were only in Paros for a very short time, we decided to rent ATVs the following morning to drive around and check out the entire island. We started by going to Kolymbithres beach, which is absolutely stunning with these massively smooth rocks. We rented beach chairs and an umbrella for 5 Euros. After relaxing for a bit, we hopped back on our ATV’s and drove to the cute village of Parikiá and had lunch at Aegean Deli (highly recommend!) This village was adorable. I’m not sure if it was the time of year (June), or if it’s always this quiet, but it almost felt like Jonathan and I were the only people in town. White-washed cobblestone streets, with pink flower petals falling from trees, and stray cats sitting in windows — it was as picturesque as it sounds. Make sure to stop by the Church of 100 Doors while you’re here.

After leaving Parikiá, we continued to ride around on our ATVs and explore the island, before heading into the village of Náoussa for dinner. Náoussa is absolutely adorable. Similar to Parikiá, the streets are lined with white-washed cobblestone, little shops, and restaurants. What makes this village so special are the restaurants lining the harbor. There’s no better place to eat fresh fish, Tzatziki, and greek salad than inches from a small boat that just docked after a day of fishing.

I think it’s safe to say my husband and I would have LOVED an extra day in Paros… but we were off to Mykonos and couldn’t wait for the adventures ahead.
