A month in East Hampton
Jonathan and I have always talked about renting a house in the Hamptons with our baby one day, and lucky for us, my maternity leave fell over the Summer months so we were able to make it a reality. We always planned on doing a week or two, but with the on-going global pandemic and Jonathan continuing to work from home, we were able to get a house for the entire month! We looked on both VRBO and Out East for a house, and ended up finding one in East Hampton (Springs) on VRBO which we booked from mid August to mid September.
While August is generally a very busy month in the Hamptons, September is my favorite time to be out East because it’s calm, quiet, and the weather is absolute perfection! We had the most magical month spending time outdoors, hosting friends and family, and enjoying little moments with just the three of us.
So, what did we do?…
Cliff Walk in Montauk at Shadmoor State Park
Ate the best breakfast burrito at Rosie’s
Enjoyed a Spa Day at Shou Sugi Ban House in Watermill
Lots of beach walks and beach hangs at Napague Beach
Walked around and shopped in East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Amagansett
Ate a lot of delicious meals from Round Samp Farms (Was in line next to Katie Couric here and she recommended the Asian Salad - it was a great choice!)
Checked out Rita Cantina, dubbed the hamptons hottest new mexican restaurant ($1 oysters for happy hour)
Browsed and bought the best produce from Balsam Farms
Walked through LongHouse Reserve Sculpture Garden
Enjoyed a beautiful dinner on the water at Sisi
Checked out the local farmers markets (East Hampton Farmers Market on Fridays 9AM -2PM, Springs Farmers Market (Sat 9am-1pm @ Ashawagh Hall)
Sunsets on the Bay at Clearwater Beach (our house came with a pass here!)
Devoured delicious Bakery items from Carissa’s (monkey bread made out of croissants - what!)
Spent a lot of Saturday’s at Amber Waves
Ate a lot of Springs Pizza
Celebrated Yom Kippur with Goldberg Bagels
Cancelled multiple reservations at Moby’s (we really wanted to eat here, but our baby didn’t cooperate!)
Discovered that Hampton Chutney doesn’t just have great dosa’s, they also have soft serve ice cream cones
